A frosty finish to the year!

Lakehill Reds 2 - Cowichan 0
Playing the last game of 2008 under very cold conditions at Beckwith field 1 the coaches decided to mix things up and made some tactical player position changes. Dale on the front line, Clair in mid field. Shannon taking (very good) corners. Solid defensive play, a strong midfield and excellent finish had the girls up by two at the half. The coaches then moved a few players into other positions and while we did not see any more scoring some opportunities (Lisa, Jessica) where there! Callie was not that tested by CVSA.
Congratulations everyone! Have a great Winter Break!!

rivalries

2 -1 [loss]

The much anticipated battle of the stripes ended in a frustrating loss for the Reds. The work ethic was there but the finish wasn't! This recent lack of form means we'll have to work a bit harder to get back to our early season results. You are a good team lets work to earn our spot at the top of the charts!

still not there....

2 -1 [loss]

Over the last three years one of the teams that has stayed very competitive and managed to improve has been Sooke. They have always given us a good game and this game once again demonstrated we have a ways to go to regain our form! Sooke jumped out to a 2-nil lead before the Reds got one back to narrow the game. Next up is Gorge who are arguably the best team in the division....

ouch!

1 - nil [loss]
A much improved Bays u16G Spartans team held the Reds off the scoresheet and came away with three points and in the process denied the Reds the opportunity to add some distance at the top of the standings! Our next couple of games are going to be pretty important especially when we play unbeaten Gorge in two weeks but next up is the always competitive SOOKE team on the 22nd!! Our last 4 games vs Sooke have usually been very low scoring games! Sooke has an opportunity to overtake us in the standings with a win this weekend!

pink unis anyone?

guess who wore #6 ?

3 - 2

In what was described by the lakehill coaching staff as a 'highly entertaining game', the Reds mounted a come back after initially falling behind to a spirited squad from Salt Spring!
