Lakehill 1 - Gorge 2

What a way to end the season! A very very strong effort from all our players, many of you still playing despite coming off of illness and injury! You went to Hampton Turf on Saturday with a will and desire to extend your season. You played one of your strongest games this season versus a strong team and met Gorge every bit of the way!
The Goal by Bri from Shannon was superb!
It came about because the entire team worked hard!

The Coaches can't ask for more than that!

Cup Play!

great effort from all the Reds today!

Since LISA has withdrawn from Silver Cup action two seasons ago the Coaches thought it wouldn't hurt to set a goal of competing with the Gold teams, the luck of the draw saw the reds play the undefeated CVSA u16G Gold team. Both teams had to battle through injuries and missing players. The Reds held their own for the opening but the faster pace was noticeable. In the end CVSA goes through to the next round, but the Reds will be back in Cup play next season!

Thanks to the players, coaches and their fans for coming out on a COLD February 14th!

Ok its a new season

I know the breaks have not been coming our way in recent games, and losing 1-nil to Sooke just means a long drive home! The good thing is you are in close in all the games you play. So this is an important week of practices and then the big Cup game this weekend. Last weekend saw some HUGE upsets in Cup play and *all* Lakehill teams progressed to the next round.

I got a good feeling about this weekend....

The u16G Reds have a 2:15pm kick off this Saturday vs BaysUnited on Braefoot #1.

We won the first game and they came up with the extra goal in the second game... lets score more this weekend! We are sitting in third place but not out of reach in narrrowing the gap!

A frosty finish to the year!

Lakehill Reds 2 - Cowichan 0

Playing the last game of 2008 under very cold conditions at Beckwith field 1 the coaches decided to mix things up and made some tactical player position changes.

Dale on the front line, Clair in mid field. Shannon taking (very good) corners. Solid defensive play, a strong midfield and excellent finish had the girls up by two at the half.

The coaches then moved a few players into other positions and while we did not see any more scoring some opportunities (Lisa, Jessica) where there! Callie was not that tested by CVSA.
